How, then, Shall we Elect

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008 by Admiral_Coeyman

My success in getting the Girdy/Herman ticket elected to every office in the land in the last election should send a message to the electorate as well as to the candidates. And, what is that message? There are enough people left out of the current electoral process to carry a third party past all of the parties that are considered to be major forces in the election system. It was not my prowess as a stand up philosopher that got the official candidate of ‘none of the above’ elected. Girdy was a hit with the disaffected voters.

Politicians promise an unbelieving public that they will alter the forces that keep planets in orbit in order to produce a homogeneous environment for their socialist utopia. We are going to tax companies into bankruptcy over profits as though the damage to the life’s blood of the economy is not going to effect the pension funds invested in them or the jobs created and sustained by corporations. We turn out generations of students that cannot perform the basic functions required of a self governing nation just to maintain their faith in the outdated myth of the philosopher kings. There are still people out here who know the difference between the phrases ‘I think’ and ‘I feel.’ The public is bored with this elitist system.

What am I really saying in this filler space on an obscure website? People who do not stand up for something will fall for anything. It is time for us to stand up and be counted. Maybe we really should be voting for Girdy. Any candidate outside of the party’s options is better than showing that you will sit back and take whatever the party does to you.

The Matson knows that we stop fighting once we have been pushed this far. If he wants to redo the dorms with Michael Moose wallpaper, we will do anything short of action to show our displeasure. He understands that there is sacrifice involved in fighting for our rights. We want our comfortable little cages more than we want the freedom to live amongst the roaches of Webb Hall. Do you really want to wake up in floral print robes next semester?

Where does Girdy stand on the issues that count? Would we be better off electing Raze this time around? Even if you have to vote for yourself in the next election, vote just to show that your concerns are worth addressing in the next campaign. Why should the election be driven by the faithful of the elitist myth? Vote so that the evil alien mastermind will understand that he actually has to give us something in return for our souls.
