Dudes, Level With Us.

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008 by Admiral_Coeyman

Stand up philosophy cannot be done if it cannot be enjoyed. If it was otherwise, then I would never have used the dude reference. How could it be otherwise with candidates like Girdy in the race? Let us now get to the meat of my argument for the day. You can prosecute my murder of the English Language later on.

What do I mean by ‘level with us?’ This is a common phrase that means to speak plainly with the general public. I what to know exactly what I am voting against out there in the market of ideas. Politicians may never take principled stances, but those of us who vote often have principles that we live by. Elected office is far removed from the real world so elected officials live only to hold onto their offices.

In the event that I was running any of the real candidates in this election, Girdy, Raze, Obama or Clinton, then I would like to see a candidate stop pandering to the centralized government elite and actually talk to the voting public like we are worth something. Our founding fathers stated that God had vested all authority in the people and that we lend authority to government. Public servant is not just an empty phrase to be thrown around like an election year promise. Our elected officials are our servants and not our masters. One of these men, George Washington, had enough popular support to have been crowned King George the first.

I stand on principles as most of my readers know. It is my belief that most people who live in that strange place called reality hold their stances on issues as the result of their principles. Stop giving us lessons in the structure and delivery of propaganda. Explain the why behind the stances that you take in the election. The people are no longer taught to think for themselves, so you cannot rely on us understanding the deep thoughts behind the sound bites.

Tell the people how your programs relate to their very real and hard lives. Why can you not pay for all of the public’s needs by taxing a minority of the population into bankruptcy? Most people in the formerly free world cannot tell the difference between net sales and gross profits. So, level with the American people. The best candidate is actually the candidate who can make his case in the court of public opinion.
