When Updates Attack
Wednesday, September 26th, 2007 by admiral By now, those of you who visit the site on anything similar to a regular basis will have noticed the sparseness of the site. Anybody who does not visit this site has no idea what I am talking about and is not reading this so I will dispense with the thoughts of that faction. I will not stoop to the level of a crack about these deprived souls. That is really because I cannot think of anything so don’t let me fool you.
The website had a hardware upgrade of some kind. There was no reason to tell us what actually happened, but the site was left in this state after much work and more prayer. I could pass the buck and that is what I am actually doing. However, this time it is the truth. We did not control the horizontal or the vertical.
Secrets of the Universe is a volunteer effort giving away the talents of a number of creators. Joel C Furches is the most notable of them and this is fitting since he is paying the bills to give you the art of his talent. We try very hard to keep this site up to specifications as well as keeping it here for your enjoyment. Please accept my apologies. I should have made better use of the technical gifts that I have been given.
Most of what we could not restore to the site was a result of my sloppiness. I have worked with computers long enough to know that things like this will happen from time to time. It is times like this that call for a good backup plan and I was not ready with mine. The comfort of reliability allowed me to get soft. I know better than this.
Joel is still looking for a professional comic artist who can help him to develop a professional product for the market. His workload has required him to drop back from the complex storylines that you were becoming accustomed to. It was this plan or dropping the website entirely. We will continue to do our best to keep this site here for your entertainment. Without you, there would be no point to any of this. Thank you.
