Fear of Survival

Friday, October 27th, 2006 by admiral

I just saw something astounding. In advertising for Halloween entertainment, I just heard children referred to as something that the public fears. There are people out there who will fear everything. Nothing is so universal that you cannot find somebody, somewhere, who will fear it. Am I alone in finding the above statement strange?

There is no future without children. Our survival depends upon children. If the birthrate falls below 2.1 births per woman, then we can stop worrying about the future that we have ceased to have. Even the rate of 2.1 will not be survivable in times of conflict where we have casualties to account for. This is a matter of life and death in every sense of the world.

We are not discussing the voluntary human extinction program. This group is an aberration that will kill itself off without damaging the gene pool to a large extent. I really do have sympathy for these people. They have a real sickness that should be treated, but the society in which they find themselves is not going to recognize that. There are people out there who honestly believe that the planet will be much better when they have arranged for 90% of our population to no longer be here.

I’ve never understood why practicing evolutionists would be so worried about conservation. Survival of the fittest, their highest article of faith, demands the extinction of the less fit. That is how you figure out who is the most fit. Is your faith so weak that you do not believe that the biosphere will adapt to balance out the threat posed by Man? So, why do they believe that killing off most of us is a good thing?

Why would civilization be so afraid of its own survival? The welfare state is a pyramid scheme that is going to collapse under the load with these dismal birthrates. Post-relevant Europe is not long for this world at this rate. This is not a leader that we should be following.

Life will go on. Healthier cultures are on the horizon for us to lose to if we do not wise up. Europe will be Islamic, at this rate, by the 22′nd century. Africa is shaping up as the new heart of Christendom. We are going to lose to one of these new masters.

But, my original question is why we seem so afraid of children. We’ve heard the bedtime stories about the population bomb, never realizing that the bomb actually implodes. Thus far, impractical has been a required property of any solution put up for consideration. It seems that unworkable is a property of all the solutions that we are given for ‘modern problems.’ Fear is hardly a rational response.

I believe that the problem is not actually fear of children. What we fear is reality. Children do not know to lie, yet, so they tell us the truth. In children, we see our own reflection. The truth is that children are in our hearts and we know that we will give up the emptiness of naturalism if we allow ourselves to see it.

So, when I hear about the fear that we have of children and all the bad things about children, I know the heart of the speaker. I have recently become more involved in youth ministry. I’m glad that the people who do not run from their children are destined to rule the future. They are better people than we are.

And, I’m now out of time to play stand up philosopher.
