New Site Design
Monday, September 25th, 2006 by bbbcoAs you have probably noticed over the weekend, you were introduced to a new Secrets website. Different layout, same great comic we all know and love.
This new design will hopefully make the site more pleasing to the eye, easier to navigate and update, as well give the users an ability to interact.
Some new features you will notice are:
- Better ways to navigate around the site and through the comics.
- the “Rate this Comic” — now you can give a rating to each comic. The more stars, the better!
- the Calender. Now you can easily access a previous comic by browsing through months. You can also tag a place where you left off in the archives and come back quickly to it next time.
- the Shoutbox in the left sidebar. This allows you to quickly leave a comment that everyone can see. Please use this to give plenty of accolades. Yes, we like them.
- The Subscription service. Now you can be updated via email when a new comic is posted.
- The Registration and Comment tools. Now you can register as a member of the website and leave comments about the tirade or comic, or whatever. It also supports pingbacks and trackbacks, which will post in the comment section if someone links to the page.
- RSS feeds!
So, that’s the new site. Give it a whirl, and let us know what you think.
Please take the time and opportunity to thank Joel for being willing to allow this transition to happen and Admiral for all of his time and energy that he devoted to seeing this project through: without his expertise in security, background knowledge of the scripts already established, willingness to spend grunt work importing all the archives, and his priceless advice, the new site would not be established.
