OoooKay
Sunday, July 3rd, 2005 by joelHave you guys been reading my articles lately? The last three or so were written directly after one another. For the past, oh, twenty minutes or so, I have been writing quick, fairly pointless articles. They started out decent enough. I talked about the human condition and some male/female relationships in animals and all. But its really late at night and my brain’s ability to form cogent thoughts is getting more and more tenuous. I think this is the last article I will write, then I am going to knock it off and go to bed. Later on, no doubt, I will mourn the suffering I have brought upon you, the reader as you wade through this craptastic tripe. Does it help if I assure you the quality of my writing will improve at later dates and beg you not to give up on me just yet?
Sooo… dust, huh? I once saw a photograph from an electron-scanning microscope, by far the coolest type of microscope. It turns out dust is made up of a whole lot of different junk that floats around our air, including but not limited to dead skin cells, parts of dead bugs, and clothing fibers. So here’s what I am wondering. If I gathered enough dust and pressed it down into, say, a pot, could I plant a seed in it, water it, and have the seed grow? Because its made out of dead stuff, right? That’s sort of like dirt.
And while we touched on the topic of dead skin cells, I have a biological question for you: do fingernail clippings, if exposed to enough heat, burn or do they melt? Because they kind of resemble plastic, at least in texture, and plastics definitely a melting type of thing. But then again they are made out of the same proteins that make up our hair, and hair burns. I guess it would be fairly easy to find out, but that strikes me as a fairly gross and mostly pointless experiment. I would rather ask someone who knows and then take their word for it.
