The Tragic Leaving of John

Monday, December 29th, 2003 by joel

Allow me to explain to you a bit of how things used
to work around here.? I, as
you know, write, draw, and design the comics and do most of the
writing/articles on the site.? Marci,
the Webgoddess, did most of the site construction and posting of large
gobs of items to the site.? John,
however, was my ever-present support when it came to frequent and
regular updates.

You see, tragically, I know very little about html
or website design.? I’m
lost when it comes to putting things up on the site.?
So three times a week, like clockwork, John was there for me,
posting comics and articles so that you, the people, would have some
entertainment.

Alas, hard times have come upon us all.?
Without going into too much detail, it has become financially
unsound for John to continue paying for an internet connection? at
least for now.? I would
insert some request for money right here, but that didn’t get any
response last time, so I’m not going to kid myself.?
John lives in an entirely different section of the country from
me, so its not as if he can come over and borrow my internet connection
to do updates.

The point of all this is that, while Marci is still
Web-active, she is one of those rare people I know who has friends, a
life, and isn’t always home and present to do stuff on the internet.?
So let’s see what this means:?
Will there continue to be comics and updates to ?Secrets’??
Yes.? There will.?
Will you get three comics a week every Monday, Wednesday, and
Friday like we were used to?? No,
probably not.? In fact,
after today, don’t expect any updates until January 7th, at
least.

Now I just can’t let this go so easily.?
I am going to do my best to learn really quickly how to operate a
website by my lonesome.? But the fact remains that I don’t have unlimited amounts of
time either.? So until John
gets back on his feet, the site is going to be a bit spotty.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and hey, have a happy New
Year.
