Yes, this has been the subject of much debate
recently.? While I am sure some people are firmly convinced that these
two mythic creatures really DO exist and battle in the eternal nights of
the hellish netherworld, I tend to think they are mythic, and therefore
not real.

So the argument is somewhat academic.? Because in
everything I ever read about vampires, their strengths and weaknesses
are different.? It’s tough to pin them down to a particular standard set
of rules that governs their abilities and behaviors.? And that’s just
not fair to werewolves who have remained pretty steadfast and standard
throughout the years.? They change to large, evil wolves on full moons
and terrorize the country side.? They bite or claw you (or you drink
water from their footprint) and you turn into one of them.? If you want
to kill them, you shoot them in the heart with a silver bullet.? Or
maybe it’s three.? I can’t quite remember.? Anyway, it’s not a balanced
battle.? For one thing Vampires are always Vampires.? Werewolves get one
night a month to be their true, evil selves.? So all a Vampire would
have to do is wait until they are mortal (29 days out of the month) and
kill them then.? Poor Werewolves.

Now perhaps you are wondering why I am being so
sympathetic to the Werewolves.? Well as I mentioned before, Vampires are
always Vampires.? This means to me, as a mortal human being (known to
the vampire as ?lunch’) that 365 nights out of the year, and probably
during some eclipses too, Vampires are going to be out there, lusting
after my blood.? I only have to run from Werewolves one night a month.?
So to me this is a no-brainer.? I would much rather have to live with
Werewolves than with Vampires.? I mean even assuming I get turned into
one of the above by being bitten, I could carry on a much more normal
lifestyle as a Werewolf than as a Vampire.? As a Vampire I have to sleep
during the day, I have to kill people for food, I can’t eat pizza
anymore, I have to hang out in creepy places associating with creepy
non-people? it just doesn’t sound like fun.? As a Werewolf I only have
to lock myself in an iron cage one night out of the month.? It’s really
not all that bad a deal.

But here is the deciding issue, for me.? A Vampire
HAS to suck my blood to live.? As far as I know, a Werewolf can eat just
about any meaty-type item it wants.? This means that at the end of the
night, I want the one that has the option of NOT eating me to win.
