Girdy

have three enormous spikes of hair protruding from his forehead.? I
know, I know, you feel deceived and confused.? Let me explain.?
Girdy, when I first met him, had his hair done in
such a way that a shock of it stuck over his forehead.? When I drew him
first in this style, I did it in such a way that there was a little fuzz
of hair sticking off his forehead.? Essentially I depicted this fuzz by
drawing tiny little spikes, and a lot of them.
Over time the number of the spikes grew to be less
and the size increased.? Eventually it became three enormous spikes.?
Someday, I suspect, as my laziness mounts, I will reduce it to two, then
one spike.? Eventually he will be a talking blob.
Also, I must confess that Girdy was not my first
roommate.? My first two roommates are chronicled in the story, Secrets
of the Universe.? Alien rays vaporize the first and the second turns out
never to have existed at all.? This is more or less true.? That’s why I
ended up with Girdy.
