It seems to me that we, as a race, are wired for
our own destruction.? Allow me to elaborate.?

It all boils down to the rules of attraction.?
Not the movie.? I think there was a movie called that.? But I
am not talking about the movie.? Got it?? Okay.?

Men are attracted to women by appearance.? The
currently popular model is slender, curvy (a contradiction, that),
and? you know? other stuff that is considered good looking.

Now Darwin would say that unattractive females
would have trouble getting a mate and their unattractive genes would
eventually be weeded out of the gene pool.? Well maybe.? But
Darwin apparently forgot about unattractive men.? I learned three
things in college.? I forgot the other two, but one of them was
that people tend to date and marry at about their level of
attractiveness.? Unattractive men mate with unattractive women and
they make lots of unattractive babies.? And since there are a whole
lot more of them than the beautiful people, we’re actually getting
uglier as a race.

Moreover, most gross physical deformities that have
their roots in genes can be altered cosmetically.? A girl can be
born with teeth growing out her cheeks due to some unfortunate gene
patterns and a few thousand dollars and about a decade worth of braces
can have her smilin’ like a movie star.

Women, on the other hand, tend to be more attracted
to a man’s persona than to simple physical appearance.? Women
want to mate with the rough, self-reliant, leader of the pack.? Oh,
sure, they tout sensitivity and gentle nature as strong points, but when
they see the alpha male, they will melt every time.?

And so guys are encouraged under pain of
disinterest to become the aggressive, violent things we were out of
necessity in the past, but have no need to be now.

Moreover in this age of information the sleek,
svelte, on-the-ball guys in the world are the pale, flaccid, techie
computer geeks who understand and can control and manipulate the
technology what makes this world jibe.? Of course, we have designed
a world that is out of accord with our bodily design and hormones.?
For we were designed for a simple hunting and gathering lifestyle, and
so a woman is attracted to the brawny outdoorsy type, not the real
movers and shakers of the world.? We need to lose a few of these
genes that are making us so doggone apt toward an active lifestyle.?
Something is drastically wrong when we have to design activities to keep
our bodies in shape in a world where we have no need to BE in shape.?
But this shall not happen with the current rules of attraction.? We
are polluting our gene pool because we are designed to be attracted to
certain things that don’t help us.
